A non-technical founder can read this and skip the technical bits without losing the thread. A developer-founder will probably find more value in the second half — the business, market, and customer chapters — than the first half, because the first half is largely things they already know.
If you’re non-technical and only going to read three chapters, I’d pick: Chapter 4 (transitioning from developer to entrepreneur, which is really about the founder mindset), Chapter 5 (market fit and validation), and Chapter 6 (pricing). Those three apply to anyone building a software business.
If you’re a developer and short on time, skip the foundational chapters and start at Chapter 5. The early chapters set context but you probably don’t need them.
