Productivity Powerhouse

What’s the core idea of the book?

There isn’t one. The core idea is that productivity is personal, and you’re better off knowing the menu than committing to one diet. The book gives you the menu.

I tried GTD for years before realizing it didn’t suit how I think. Then time blocking. Then Pomodoro. Bits of each one stuck. The book’s premise is: read it, try things, keep what works, drop what doesn’t.

That sounds obvious, but most books in the genre try to sell you their thing. The honest version is: most productivity systems work for some people and don’t work for others, and the right move is to know enough about the options that you can pick instead of being picked.

The chapters on Energy Management (Chapter 11) and Personalize Your Productivity (Chapter 7) are the ones where this premise is most explicit.
